Medieval Revels to be held May 7th

We are pleased to announce that our revels on the Castle site will be held on Bank Holiday Monday May 7th between 1pm-6pm on the Car park on Chalk Lane, Northampton (map below!). All are welcome to what will be a fun-packed family event.

We will be hosting a craft fair, children’s games, a maypole, wandering musicians and story tellers with an event going on in the Old Black Lion at the same time! We have even arranged a specially brewed “Castle Ale” from local Frog Island Brewery!

Dodderidge Church on Castle Hill have made themselves available for refreshments and other activities, while guided tours will be available at nearby St Peter’s church, which is open throughout the day.

Want to get involved? We’d love to hear from musicians, street entertainers, artists, craftworkers and volunteers ready to give a helping hand to what is shaping up to be an amazing day of fun. Medieval costumes a bonus! Send an email to NorthamptonCastle@gmail.com to offer a hand!

May kings and Queens will also be crowned at the event, and we hope to recreate a bustling busy medieval castle street scene, so come along on the seventh day of May and Reclaim Medieval Northampton!
